Didn't want you to miss this final scene from the season opener of Community. Very funny, and it is great to see a little taxonomy in prime time comedy. But can you catch the errors? I'll give two bonus points to any scientific error posted in the comments. First come first served.
Species should be Homo sapiens (italics). The black guy on the right said only sapien.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy Community! Shouldn't Order be Primata, not primate. Order names always end in "a" and start with a capital letter.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like they are italicizing all the names, but I thought you only had to italicize Genus and species?
ReplyDeleteYes, it should be "sapiens", with an "s". And only the genus and species should be in italics. But unfortunately, while most orders end in "a", primates is special for some reason. It really is "primates".
